HOLROYD ROTARY VISITS THE PEACE BELL IN CANBERRA
Holroyd Rotarians visited Canberra over 3 days in November and whilst there were fortunate to be able to take a tour of Nara Peace Park and visit the Canberra Peace Bell. Michael Rabey of the Canberra Burley Griffin Club was a very informative and wonderful guide.
In partnership with the World Peace Bell Association, the Rotary Club of Canberra Burley Griffin undertook an ambitious project of building a Peace Bell pavilion which was designed by Canberra Architects Lauren and Fred Kasparek.
The Peace Bell was officially launched on 23 February 2018 and resides in Canberra Nara Peace Park on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin to remind us that we all want a peaceful World.
It was certainly a memorable and moving experience and we thank Michael Rabey for taking the time to show us around the beautiful Nara Peace Park.
