
Salvation Army 125th Birthday
A Prayer Service and band concert celebrated 125 years of wonderful work by the Granville members of the Salvation Army.
Special guests for the weekend were The Salvation Army’s National Chief Secretary and the National Secretary for Women’s Ministries, Colonels Mark and Julie Campbell. Words of appreciation for the work of the Corps throughout the years were brought by (in order of speaking): Julie Owens, MP (federal member for Parramatta), Pip Lovely (Assistant Governor for Rotary District 9675), Robert Feil (President of the Rotary Club of Holroyd), Barry Gobbe, JP (from the Granville Train Disaster Association), Julia Finn, MP (state member for Granville), and Geoff Lee, MP (state member for Parramatta).
The Salvos were recognised for the large impact on their local communities through their work over many years.
On Sunday, Holroyd Rotarians barbecued and served lunch to the Salvationists and local community members.
