Rotary NSW Emergency Services Community Awards
Over the years, many Rotary clubs have successfully facilitated annual events that have recognized local emergency services personnel who have exemplified Rotary's "Service Above Self" motto. The Rotary Club of Holroyd has been “engaged” in said recognition for more than 20 years.
In 2015, the then Rotary District 9675 Governor Barry Antees, and the commissioners and deputy commissioners of the emergency services, saw the potential of making this a statewide event.
The Governor of NSW, His Excellency General David Hurley launched the new statewide Rotary Emergency Services Community Awards in 2015 and has agreed to be the patron of these Awards.
2015 then was the first year where members of Fire & Rescue NSW, Marine Rescue NSW, NSW Ambulance, NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW State Emergency Service, NSW Police Force and NSW Volunteer Rescue Association called for nominations from the community to recognize outstanding dedication.
All Rotary clubs within District 9675 have been encouraged to conduct Emergency Services Awards events where local emergency services personnel will be recognized. The successful emergency services workers will then be eligible for the statewide Rotary NSW Emergency Services Community Awards, which will be announced in August.
